Newsletter No. 18- (31/03/02)

Hi again everybody. Sorry I'm a day late with the update but it is the bank holiday! It's now less than FIVE weeks to our reunion and plans with the Hotel Sheraton are now being finalised. We are really struggling with the numbers. I told them at the outset that we expected around 80 guests. We still only have 58 guests who have currently paid. There are one or two who have contacted me saying they will come if possible. The 12 teachers who have agreed to come will swell the numbers to 70. I am confident that those who do attend will have a smashing night. I have been toying with the idea of having some 60's or 70's music playing in the background. Let me know if you have any preferences. I also thought about a light hearted quiz about the school, the times we had there etc., offering a small prize to the winner.

Several pupils from other years have written to me asking about reunions for other years. If they want to organise a reunion, I would love to pass on any advise and allow them the fascilities offered by the web-site. You can't always leave it to someone else to take up the cudgel. There are another two or three new members this month. Check out the latest additions page.

On Friday May 3rd, a tour of the school has been arranged for the class of 1966. Mr. Gillingham has kindly agreed to take us around and show off the newer buildings. If any ex-pupils from other years would like to take part, I will try to see if this invitation can be extended. Send me an e-mail if you are interested. The tour will take place sometime around three or four o'clock.

That's about it for this week.

Bye for now,
Dave
