Hello again everybody.
Since lat week, I have received the latest edition of the Montgomery News. The "Summer
Sizzler" is the sub-heading! For those of you who have left the school only recently, the often
familiar news is that the school are adding even more buildings to the rapidly expanding
site. A new 2-storey technology bolck is planned. This is only the start of a new plan which
will be revealed at a later date.
Plans are now complete for the new "State-of-the-art" bike sheds. Pupils raised £3000,
the PTFA donated a further £3500 and together with grants from the BBC and the Department
of Transport the cash has now been raised to fund the project. Building will commence
in the Autumn of this year.
Many of the pupils from years 7,8,9 & 10 were involved in the "Music For A Summer
Evening" presentation at the Grand Theatre. The school choir, the band and the dancers
wowed the audience with some stunning excerpts from the West End musical "Chicago".
Katie Barras & Alana Stevens choreographed an evening of dance, "A Stage & Screen
Spectacular" feturing many of the talented girls from the school.

On the sporting front, Year 7 boys were runners up in the league and won the Harry Wynn Cup,
beating Carr Hill 2-0 in the Final with goals from Jordan Douthwaite and Adam Richardson.

The Under 14's Girls team had a 100% record in the school's league and will go on to
represent Blackpool in the Lancashire Youth Games due to winning a tournament held
at Collegiate School.

Newcomers to the school, year 7 proved winners in the debut year with the Rugby team
remaining undefeated. They topped it all with a superb 30-6 result to be crowned
Blackpool Schools Chamions.
