I was present when the school was officially opened by the Field Marshal in 1959, having joined the school in the September of that year. Shortly after leaving Montgomery I left Blackpool, only to return occasionally, consequently losing contact with the school, and the other kids. My recall of those days however is razor sharp being able to remember all the teachers, what classes they taught,even what make and colour of the cars they drove, as well as a thousand and one memories of the characters, and incidents that occurred during those fantastic times now almost 50 years ago.
