I went to Montgomery from Thornton Cleveleys secondary school in 1958.My sister Brenda still lives in Blackpool. I was in class 3C (form mistress Miss Holmes). I was the first cricket captain of the school and also played in the football team. A humourous memory was, the football kit was maroon and our parents had to wash it and of course the maroon ran into the white causing allsorts of consternation. Of course the first game was against Claremont school, and on a very sad note the sports master collapsed and died during the game. In the final year I became a prefect (don't ask me how) and I still have my final reference from leaving the school from Mr.G.Halliday.
